Ok, I'm done
Applying for crap and hoping someone calls. I'm not putting up with fellow supervisors who tattle on me to my boss because they're threatened by my skills, and I'm especially not putting up with a manager who proceeds to coach me without asking my side of the story or even explaining why I'm getting talked to like a child. Luckily I kept my cool and politely put her in her place (even got an apology this time!), but this has happened before and I'm tired of it.

I can't wait to see my review. Should be an entertaining list of my incompetence and personal failings. Guess they won't miss me when I leave.

Jilly is drinking insane amounts of water and barely going to the bathroom. Internet says liver or kidneys. FML.

Ob la di, Ob la da...

It looks like I can't do friends only on here. Soooo, I'll just say that yesterday sucked. Might be time to move to rural Asia and change my name. If I have any sanity left at the end of this week it will be a goddamn miracle.

I need a new job. Getting harder and harder to take this seriously. Scoped out the local community college yesterday. Meh...should have done this in Ohio. Time to zone out for four days.

I ran into rob's ex on Saturday. He suggested temp agencies. They found him both jobs he had there before he went to delta. Also the account manager at the one we currently use is checking out openings for me there. And lastly, there's an opening at First Data, which I'm qualified for and is up the road. Hopefully something will come soon---this Ohio crap is getting old very quickly.

iPhone is here

I am still learning to type on it. Michael is moved while I'm living in poverty in Columbus. More when I have a keyboard :-)

Nels has it right...
"Longtime readers know I tend to stay away from overtly political discussions on this blog. I do so for many reasons, including the fact that politics gets reduced to binaries of being for or against something that it's so difficult to explore a position on a topic. In other words, I have to know firmly what I think before I say it because my opinion will be judged. Often, in overtly political discussions, we are not allowed to examine perspectives. We are just supposed to have one." ~penniesinajar.blogspot.com

I joined a group on Facebook about a cause I'm very into: video monitoring in slaughterhouses. The USDA doesn't have much funding for inspections (it's just your food, no worries). Companies like ConAgra and Smithfield are very good at making things look nice for inspectors when they do show up. Luckily, people are going into these places--posing as workers--and taking their own video. The fallout in California is the first time mainstream media has given attention to the issue (animal abuse, sick animals being put into the food supply, etc), but any AR organization can give you many other examples.

If the government won't provide the manpower necessary to monitor slaughterhouses, why not permit video cameras? Workers and companies would be held accountable all the time. Video would benefit everyone: vegans, vegetarians, meat-eaters who still care that the animals are treated humanely as possible, and meat-eaters who don't care but are eating the meat.

Just think about it. More reading here:

Dearest email spammers:

I realize that I'm not the thinnest or youngest guy out there. I don't have much of a social life.

But please, I don't need viagra, cialis, help meeting men, help meeting hot MILFs who're into bestiality, or pills to make it bigger.

Thank you.

In the mood today...
Real Men
Take your mind back
I dont know when
Sometime when it always seemed
To be just us and them
Girls that wore pink
And boys that wore blue
Boys that always grew up better men
Than me and you
What's a man now, what's a man mean
Is he rough or is he rugged
Is he cultural and clean
Now it's all changed, it's got to change more
We think it's getting better
But nobody's really sure
And so it goes, go round again
But now and then we wonder who the real men are
See the nice boys, dancing in pairs
Golden earring, golden tan
Blow-wave in the hair
Sure they're all straight, straight as a line
All the gays are macho
Can't you see their leather shine
You dont want to sound dumb, dont want to offend
So don't call me a faggot
Not unless you are a friend
Then if you're tall, handsome, and strong
You can wear the uniform and I could play along
And so it goes, go round again
But now and then we wonder who the real men are
Time to get scared, time to change plan
Don't know how to treat a lady
Don't know how to be a man
Time to admit what you call defeat
cause there's women running past you now
And you just drag your feet
Man makes a gun, man goes to war
Man can kill and man can drink
And man can take a whore
Kill all the blacks, kill all the reds
And if there's war between the sexes
Then there'll be no people left
And so it goes, go round again
But now and then we wonder who the real men are
And so it goes, go round again
But now and then we wonder who the real men are
And so it goes, go round again
But now and then we wonder who the real men are

...feel like crap, slight stomach ache, approaching dread, and sudden need to graduate ASAP once again.

Yeah. Mama will probably be looking for a new job this coming year. I say that every year, but I think it'll be necessary.

While listening to the radio...
"Shakira sounds like a fucking goat."
"No she doesn't. Stevie Nicks sounds like a goat."
"Hey, Stevie's awesome."
"I agree, but she does sound like a goat."
"No, Shakira's worse. When I hear her I just picture her chewing on a tin can."
